Hydro Dynamics

Storm Surge
14x21"
watercolor

This past Friday, I had the opportunity to demonstrate at the Magic Valley Arts Council in Twin Falls, Idaho. My demonstration consisted of painting waves in watercolor with squirt and spray bottles. As I told those in attendance, there is no better way to paint water than with water.

Storm Surge and Overflow are both what I demonstrated at the event.

I will be demonstrating how to paint waves similar to these at Opus Art Supplies in Coquitlam, BC in Canada on February 14, 2019.

Island in the Salish Sea

The book that I illustrated, Island in the Salish Sea, written by Sheryl McFarlane and published by Orca Books came out 2 months ago. It is about a little girl that visits her grandmother for the summer, having lots of adventures on an island in the Pacific Northwest.

Orca Books asked me nearly 2 years ago if I wanted to illustrate this book. It has been an incredible journey trying to capture Sheryl's vision. It was fun to decide which parts of Vancouver Island I wanted to illustrate and I was able to include some of my favorite areas.

It is available for purchase on Amazon and other bookstores.

Below are some of my favorite paintings from the book.
