Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!

I find it exciting to start off a New Year filled with creative possibilities. I had a wonderful break visiting my family in Idaho for Christmas and enjoyed disconnecting from the digital world.  My goal was to stay away from the emails, blogs, and everything that goes with that. I wanted to relax and spend time with my mother, my husband, and my kids.
Now I have something to share!
Here are a few things that we did do:

We did some caroling with the family.

Made gingerbread houses

My kids and their cousins waiting to see if Santa arrived.
It was so much fun to be around little kids again!

Santa did arrive!

Me and my mom

My kids with my mother.
The ornaments on the tree were hand painted by my mother.

Candy display in the Macy's window in Salt Lake City, Utah

We saw the beautiful lights at Temple Square in Salt Lake City.
Visiting Temple Square at Christmas was my own family tradition when I was younger.
It was nice to share it with my own children.

Utah Jazz vs. LA Lakers
Jazz won! Yay!

My daughter and I visiting the Edward Burtynsky exhibit at BYU's Museum of Art

 Minerva Teichert paintings

One of the highlights of our whole trip was to see the Sacred Gifts exhibit, sponsered by BYU.
This exhibit has been 12 years in the making and exhibits paintings of Christ as done by 3 artists. Some of the paintings were brought from Denmark and will probably never be seen outside of that country again.

I cannot express how moving it was to see some of these paintings. It was inspirational and made me grateful for the gifts of  talent that these artists and the museum have shared.

Now I feel refreshed and ready to get back to work.
Hope all of you have a happy, healthy, and creative 2014!
