Poured Watercolor Demonstration

Tea Time
poured watercolor

A couple of weeks ago I did a poured watercolor demonstration at Opus Art Supplies.
I usually do urban landscapes but have recently wanted to try to do more still lifes with this technique.
Tea Time is the result of the demonstration.

I'm not sure what poured watercolours are ... but the results are fantastically mind blowingly good!

poured watercolor? wow, that sounds very challenging! I admire your work so much!

Thank you John and Katherine. A poured watercolor is where I layer liquid watercolor and resist (similar to batik). Then I lift the resist at the end and I have my painting.

Thank you Kathryn! Not sure if it is completely finished but decided to post it anyways.

Leslie, this is just beautiful.

Very affective as a still life. You really know how to focus the values to get great results.

Thank you everyone for your comments! I actually was able to do this one in 3 pours. Most of my urban landscapes take 4-5 so I was quite pleased with the results.
